Rated by many as one of the ultimate psychedelic hard rock albums of 1970.
A REAL psychedelic acid hard rock band that literally lived and played the lifestyle of the late 60's & early 70's music revolution to the Nth degree. Surrounded by urban legends and mystique, quit a tour with the Allman Brothers, and turned down an Atlantic Records contract, Sainte Anthony's Fyre is now an icon in psychedelic hard rock history. Just like the patron Saint Anthony, plagued and beaten down by demons, Sainte Anthony's Fyre has risen back from the grave better than ever! This website gives an insight into the real story behind the band and it's history, from the only guy in the band alive today that was there from the very start of the band in 1968, till the band disbanded in 1972.
"This is the ultimate wasted slimy speed freak vortex of polluted psychedelic hard rock from the greasy wasteland of inner city Jersey. The most wicked manic garage power trio to end them all. Raw gnarly drugged guitar, cavernous bass, drums beat to a pulp and psychotic vocals." - Lastfm.com
"Rated by many as one of the ultimate local basement hard rock blowouts. An intense, compressed live feel has the band going through a set of raw originals with a near-punk attack. Also shows obvious urban soul/funk inspiration a la Grand Funk, although this becomes an advantage in this context. A great echoey rehearsal space sound adds to the appeal. According to Jersey folklore the drummer OD'd after his brother had shot himself in the head. The Void reissue is inferior in sound compared to the original, or the earlier bootleg. [PL] ------ Editors Note...the drummer did not OD....he is still very much alive and well and playing :)
"Intense damaged power trio. Sludge fuzz behemoth in Bent Wind/Blue Cheer zone. No subtlety or restraint in evidence as Greg Ohm delivers powerful vocals and distorted leads from the other side. The side openers "Love over you" and "Lone soul road" are all time riff fests. [RM]

Music I suggest to Blow your mind!
The album is 100% amazing. No weak songs or fillers. From start to finish the album is a experience to the senses. - Phrock.blogspot.com
"Sainte Anthonys Fyre (US)- A exciting US 3 piece band that released this great album on Breeder Records in the early 1970s. A long forgotten jewel. I have no information on them but I guess this was the only album the band did, I picked up this Lp a while back and when I first played it I was knocked out completely. Very intense, incredibly heavy. The band really put out a great jam on the album.Great vocals, back to basic hardrock and incredible guitarwork in the same league as Mountain, Cactus, Grand Funk, Poobah is just some of the names that I can refer to, I really hope this album is re-released on CD or newpress cause it is worth to have this album in your collection if you are a fan of great early 70s heavyrock. Also the sound of the album, very primitive and very raw. Another Highly recommended album to lay your hands and ears on. Once again I advice to contact Recordheaven if they have it, hopefully they have." - GL Productions
